Modular G3-PLC Communication Unit for Honeywell Elster Electricity Metes

The AM540 Module is based on the modern and robust G3 PLC technology. Built into the electricity meters AS3000 or AS3500, the AM540 connects the meters with the Smart Metering System. Via an integrated M-Bus interface, water, gas and heat meters can be connected to the AM540 by wire and thus also integrated into the readout system. The AM540 module is IDIS certified and therefore complies with the IDIS specification.

Application Area

The G3 Powerline Communication Technology replaces the well-known S-FSK PLC technology and enables a cost-effective and robust communication between meter and system. This technology is suitable for less as well as densely populated areas. Distances of up to 1 km between individual meters can be overcome. G3-PLC is based on the use of multiple, parallel communication frequencies (OFDM) and is therefore robust against sources of interference such as frequency converters.
